Newsletter (Q2, 2003) Welcome to our second Newsletter of 2003. Have you seen our new Whitepapers ? We are continually looking at ways to provide value to our customers, and believe that the creation of topical easy to read whitepapers is practical way to do that. Check out our latest paper addressing SME Adoption of technology. Coming later this month is a paper looking at Web Services, and what they really mean to business. Does that Form Really Need to be Online ? We have spent some time recently looking at the way organisations are using web browser based data entry forms to capture information online. If the person filling out the form is interrupted during this task - whether that be because the link to the site is lost, or they are called away to do something else, the task must be started again from the beginning, or the site has to build some complex logic to remember where the person was upto so they can resume at a later time. How much easier, if the user was able to download a browser-based form, save it to their computer and fill it out as they are able to, then upload it when complete. At a recent breakfast we attended with a renowned international eBusiness strategist, he spoke of how he believed there is a need to start thinking beyond the obvious and look at the real advantages of asynchronous processing when designing automated processes. We could not agree more - after all, in our real life, how many of us perform all our tasks in a synchronous fashion; that is completing one task from start to finish before starting another ? If the form in our example is written in XML, then when it is uploaded, the application can automatically extract the information and update the computer record in the same way as if it was completed online - simple, no fuss and much more convenient for the end-user. This is yet another simple way your business can improve the customer experience. Indeed, given the rapidly expanding use of high bandwidth Broadband services, downloading relatively complex forms is now relatively painless. Government Endorsed Supplier Earlier this year, Ganguly & Associates were accepted by the Federal Government for membership of the Endorsed Supplier Arrangement scheme (ESA). While this is primarily of interest to our Government clients, we believe it is also a positive indicator to our corporate clients. Endorsed Supplier status is only awarded to vendors which have been able to meet the required standards, and speaks to our stability as a company. The following is an extract from the criteria:
